U.S. Congressman Visits Centralina WDB Partners to Discuss Dislocated Worker Issues

North Carolina 8th District Congressman Robin Hayes visited several counties in the Centralina region in January to discuss services to dislocated workers. Congressman Hayes met with business and workforce leaders from Cabarrus County at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College's South campus in Concord at 9:00 AM on January 14, Stanly County leaders at Stanly Community College in Albemarle at 2:00 PM on January 14, and Anson County and Union County leaders at South Piedmont Community College in Polkton on January 15. The meetings centered on ways that the Centralina WDB could access and tap into additional resources from the Federal level to help dislocated and displaced workers in our region.

Congressman Hayes was joined by US Department of Labor officials Ericka Baum and Anthony Bedell who explained the various programs and services available through USDOL funds to serve dislocated workers. Tim Peters, Legislative Director, and Richard Hudson, District Director for Congressman Hayes, worked with the Centralina WDB staff in arranging the meetings.

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Stanly Community College and South Piedmont Community College are just a few of the many partnering organizations addressing workforce issues in the Centralina WDB region.
