Centralina WDB Workshop a Hit at National Conference

The Centralina Workforce Development Board leadership team's workshop presentation - "Start the Commotion to Improve Your Board!"- was a definite hit at the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) conference held in Washington, DC on March 3-5. Centralina WDB Chair Mark Whitley, Vice-Chairman John Stegall, and WDB Executive Director David Hollars shared their experiences on how to get private sector members involved with the Board. An enthusiastic audience of over 100 were very interested in the "Resource Handbook for Board Members" - the Centralina WDB's orientation manual. Board members and staff from a variety of communities learned how the Centralina WDB has become successful in recruiting and keeping motivating Board members, developing involved committees, and having no more boring meetings!

The NAWB conference is held annually in Washington, DC and attracts workforce board members and staff, elected officials, and other workforce professionals from around the country. This year's conference had over 1700 attendees.

The Centralina WDB PowerPoint presentation - "Start the Commotion to Improve Your Board" is accessible via the Board's website.
